Yukari Horiguchi is a major recurring antagonist in the Shikigami No Shiro series, appearing as the fourth stage boss in Shikigami no Shiro II and the first in Shikigami no Shiro III. In both games, she undergoes entirely different appearances, and attack patterns.

Background

Shikigami no Shiro II

The last guardian of the castle, she is actually hospitalized in the real world. She attacks with (lots of) cards. If she is defeated, maybe she'll wake up in the real world.

Shikigami no Shiro III

Yukari is the first Shikigami boss to ever live to make a second appearance, and with a much different look. Her personality is much flightier this second around, and as she was 'promoted' to being the first stage boss, she's the easiest to defeat. She claims to also run a flower shop and be an avid gamer.

It should also be noticed that Yukari does not use her battle cards this time around.

• Yukari is the only boss character in the series to appear in more than one of the numbered games. (the only other boss character to appear in more than one game, Tsukiko Johjima appears in Shikigami no Shiro Nanayozuki Gensoukyoku, a side story graphic adventure.)
• Her and Fumiko Odette Van Stein are implied to be great rivals.
• Of all the main bosses in the series, Yukari has the most variety in possible character expressions in Shikigami no Shiro III, with twelve different mugshots.
• In Shikigami no Shiro II, it is implied that she's actually a normal girl in a different world whose spirit was summoned to the Shikigami no Shiro universe, and she thinks that she's only playing a harmless card game.
