Freedom Wind is an antagonist in the Shikigami no Shiro series, appearing as the third stage boss in Shikigami no Shiro III.

Background

A mysterious woman who, according to Fumiko Odette Van Stein, can be nothing more than a ghost; as she died by Fumiko's hand. She was Fumiko's stepmother, and killed by her in a conflict over a man.

Abilities

Freedom Wind has very unique abilities, which range around the areas of generating dark-red tornadoes which fire pink shards at you, to freezing her attacks in mid air, and moving them individually to land a direct hit your character. When using her tornadoes, she spins at very high speeds through the use of wind, thus firing even more shards at you. Unlike the other bosses, she can move to each side of the screen at very high speeds. She can also fire different types of blasts; golden balls of energy, followed by smaller ones, or a beam with a high blast radius.

Trivia

• It's been said that she may be connected to Tagami from Shikigami no Shiro, although the two have never been seen together in one scene.
• Freedom Wind's expression never changes, aside from a graphic of her defeat, and a rare one of her appearing disheveled(conveyed with a sweatdrop graphic).
• She addresses everyone as a color of wind. Fumiko, for example, is referred to as a 'sky blue wind'.
